Samantha skimmed through the menu, a soft smirk playing on her lips. “Let me guess,” she mused, tapping a finger against her chin. “You’re going to order something safe, predictable… like ramen?”

Akib chuckled. “Oh, my lady, you underestimate me.” He took the menu from her hand, their fingers grazing momentarily, lingering longer than necessary. “How about sushi? I dare say, it’s a test of character.”

She arched a brow. “A test?”

Akib leaned in, his voice low. “Indeed. You see, sushi is an art. It tells whether one is bold enough to embrace the rawness of life or prefers everything well-cooked and measured.”

Samantha tilted her head, feigning consideration. “So, what does it say about me if I choose sushi?”

“That you are an adventurer. That you are fearless, unpredictable.” He smirked. “And I have always found unpredictability rather… intoxicating.”

A slight blush warmed her cheeks, but she did not waver. “And what about you, Sir Akib? What does your choice say about you?”

“That I am willing to surrender to the moment, no matter where it leads.”

Their gazes locked an unspoken current passing between them. The waiter returned, oblivious to the magnetic pull between the two.

“Have you decided on your order, sir, ma’am?” he asked.

Akib, without breaking his gaze from Samantha, said, “Two plates of sushi, please. Something delicate, yet bold.”

Samantha let out a small laugh. “You truly do turn everything into poetry, don’t you?”

Akib grinned. “When the muse is before me, it is impossible not to.”

Their conversation drifted into discussions of flavors, textures, and the beauty of experiencing something new. Samantha spoke of the way a single bite could transport her to a different place, how the richness of flavors intertwined like the complexity of emotions. Akib listened intently, adding his own insights, his words a careful balance of wit and depth.

Then, suddenly—

CRASH!

A loud commotion interrupted the air. Both turned their heads to see a waiter sprawled on the floor, dishes shattered around him, a cascade of misfortune raining down upon an unfortunate customer who now sat drenched in soup and rice.

A stunned silence followed, then a suppressed giggle from Samantha.

Akib, ever composed, leaned in with a smirk. “That, my lady, is the true unpredictability of life.”

Samantha bit her lip, trying to stifle her laughter. “And how does one navigate such unanticipated disasters?”

Akib gestured grandly. “With grace, dignity… and the knowledge that at least it was not us.”

Samantha shook her head, laughing softly. “Oh, Akib, you are incorrigible.”

He winked. “And yet, you seem to like me that way.”

As the restaurant staff hurried to clean the mess, the two continued their playful banter, their laughter blending with the soft hum of the evening around them. The night was still young, and in its quiet corners, something deeper stirred between them—unspoken, yet unmistakable.
